Before I share my summer makeup routine, I would like to say something. I genuinely love makeup because you can express yourself through it. I am not an artistic person at all, but I enjoy coming up with different makeup ideas when it comes to makeup! I know that a lot of people think that girls wear makeup to impress others. But for me, I honestly enjoy doing makeup, and I even look forward to doing it. But always remember that you do not need makeup to be beautiful! You are beautiful just the way you are!
Let’s get into it now!
For summer, I love to keep my skin super lightweight and dewy. Nothing too heavy that is going to melt off my face or make me look super cakey. I am obsessed with every single product that I use. If I weren’t, I wouldn’t be sharing it with you! I love how my makeup routine incorporates both high-end and drugstore makeup. I am going to break down for you all the products and shades that I use. So, without further a due, here is my Summer Makeup Routine!
Summer Makeup Routine for Face Products:
1. Primer: Smashbox Photo Finish.
This stuff makes your skin feel super velvety! It also really does help prep your skin for makeup and helps it last longer. You can pick this stuff up at Sephora.
2. Foundation: L’Oréal True Match in N2 Classic Ivory.
This foundation is a tried and tested one from the drugstore. It has SPF 17 and is super light and long-wearing. I bought this at Target.
3. Concealer: Tarte Shape Tape in Fair.
I don‘t know what I did before I had this concealer! This is my holy grail product, honesty. I wear this for like 20 hours, and it still looks stunning. It doesn’t crease and doesn’t fade! This product is exclusive to the Tarte website and Ulta.
4. Powder: Airspun Loose Face Powder in Naturally Neutral.
This stuff is AMAZING! It helps your liquid makeup not budge at all. Also, it takes me forever to go through the jar. But, a little goes a long way with this product. Even when I bake my makeup with it, it doesn’t make my face feel super heavy. This product at first took me forever to find almost 3 months, but I finally found it at Walmart.
5. Bronzer: Kiko in 02 Sunny Sienna.
I bought this stuff in Germany on my trip a while ago, and I haven’t hit a pan on it (it has been over 6 months!). Also, this stuff smells amazing, exactly like chocolate. This is more of an orangey bronzer, so not super great for contouring. As I said, I bought this in Germany from a Kiko Makeup Store. But you can also purchase it from their website.
6. Blush: Nars Blush in Orgasm.
At first, I was skeptical about this blush because it does have some shimmer in it, and usually, I wear matte blush. But this looks beautiful on the skin! I was able to get this product at Sephora.
7. Highlight: Elf Baked Highlighter in Moonlight Pearls & Cargo Picture Perfect Highlighter in Bronze.
The Elf Highlighter is strong. If you get this, you need to use a light hand. Since the Elf highlight is so strong, I like to add the Cargo Highlight in Bronze to tone it down. It also is such a gorgeous color. The Elf Highlighter I purchased at Target and the Cargo Highlighter can be picked up at Ulta.
8. Finishing Spray: All Nighter Setting Spray.
This product claims to make your makeup last for up to 16 hours, and it honestly goes above and beyond that. It holds on to my makeup for way longer and makes it look gorgeous. I have bought so many bottles of this stuff. I purchase this stuff time and time again from Sephora.
Summer Makeup Routine for Eye Products:
1. Primer- Urban Decay Primer Potion.
I have been using this product for years. This helps my eyeshadow stay in place for super long. I picked this up at Sephora.
2. Eye Shadow
I use Kiko Bronzer all over the lid. Then I used a Vanilla shade from the BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel to help carve out my brow bone. Finally, in the inner corner, I use the Cargo highlighter. The Carli Bybel palette is available at Ulta.
3. Brows– Anastasia Beverley Hills Brow Wiz in Soft Brown.
At first, I was like, what the heck no way I am spending $21 on an eyebrow pencil. But then I caved and got it, and HOLY MOLY, my brows have never looked so good. Also, this eyebrow pencil lasted me. I want to say 3 months, where the ones I was using from the drugstore were lasting maybe a month. So, the hype on this product is worth it, trust me. You can get this at both Ulta and at Sephora.
4. Mascara– Combination of Benefit They’re Real and Urban Decay Perversion.
This combo works great together. They really help lengthen, while the UD Perversion helps make your lashes look super dark. I picked both up at Sephora.
Summer Makeup Routine for Lip Products:
1. Lip Scrub– Lush Lip Scrub in the flavor Bubblegum.
I have used this for years now to scrub the dead skin off my lips. GROSS, that sounds nasty, but it’s true. It tastes fantastic and works wonders. I purchased this at my local Lush.
2. Lip Balm– Vaseline with Cocoa Butter.
Nothing much to say about this product, but it is super moisturizing for your lips. It also has multi uses. I picked this up at Target.
3. Lip Stick– PBJ Smoothie Stick, Creamy Lip Crayon.
This is a pink, mauve color and looks super great on. The best part is this product smells super great. I also love the packaging of this product! I received this product from Birchbox, but it is no longer sold on their website. But you can find it on the Beauty Crops Website.
4. Lip Gloss– LipScence Glossy Gloss.
I received a sample of this product, and I have fallen in love. This is a super long-wearing gloss. It brings me back to the 2000 vibes of always wearing glossy lips.
The Bottom Line
This is my list of the summer makeup routines. Honestly, when I break it down, it makes it seem that I use a ton of products, but it isn’t, I swear. This takes me like 30 minutes at most to put on. As I mentioned, I love every product that I use, and I highly recommend checking them out!
Happy Makeuping!
