Being extremely busy with our routine, we tend to forget about ourselves and therefore give up on our plans to slim down. In fact, there are a few easy steps to succeed in this difficult task. Make these things a part of your routine to achieve your goal!  Let’s take a closer look on these steps.

1. Drink more water.
Many people are mislead by thinking that hunger pangs mean you need something to eat. In many cases, your body might just be dehydrated. Keep the water handy and you will surprisingly find yourself less hungry than you thought you would be. Following this simple advice is a first step to start losing weight — there will not be a lot of room for junk food, you will get more energy and improve your mood.

2. Use a smaller plate.
It is so smart to just choose a smaller plate to reduce the portion size without your body starting a riot against this decision! It helps your mind think there is more food because the plate looks full, while there is actually less food than usual. Also, try to slow down while eating and enjoy each bite to get the sense of satiety. Doing so, your body won’t even notice that you have had less than usual.

3. Be active and energetic.
Movement is a key to natural weigh-loss. The more you move, the more calories you burn. Therefore, take any opportunity to move more — take the stairs instead of elevators or escalators, get off the bus one station earlier and take a stroll, park your car a bit further from your workplace and walk to it.

4. Say no to sugary soft drinks.
It is amazing how what we drink influences our body! Simply having water instead of having soda will work wonders as you will reduce the level of sugar considerably, which is important to lose weight. If you don’t feel like drinking pain water, flavor it with fruit. Water is a great way to slim down.

5. Choose your snacks wisely.
Everyone feels snacky from time to time. Nuts, seeds and fruit are great for it as they have lots of nutrients and vitamins. It is important to keep the size of your snack small — don’t eat the whole bag, just a few nuts will be good.

6. Maintain your healthy eating habits on vacations.
Don’t delude yourself into thinking that you can eat anything on your vacation. Healthy eating should become your habit. Also, you should never be hungry because it is becoming difficult to say no to all the tempting foods.

7. Sleep well.
Not getting enough sleep can lead to higher stress, which leads to higher cortisol levels, which often leads to a lower metabolic rate. If you make getting a good night sleep a priority, you are helping your body burn more fat more efficiently. Get at least 7-8 hours a night.

8. Choose foods that make you feel good.
You will definitely enjoy eating a tub of ice cream, but how will you feel 1 hour after it?  Sluggish?  Tired?  Note how you feel after eating healthy cooked dish like fish with steamed veggies.

If you do want to lose weight, then you can do it by following at least some of these steps.

There are so many ways to get started! You are the only one who is responsible for you. So take this responsibility and make your plan real. Slim down is not difficult, the main thing is patience.
